Last year the average Kinnikinnick District teacher made $63,612 on the expired salary schedule. The KEA proposes to keep that schedule which provides for an automatic base salary pay increase not to exceed 4% each year. Combined with a full benefits package, the average Kinnikinnick teacher received $71,364 per year in total compensation. The Kinnikinnick School District pays 100% of teachers’ medical, dental and life insurance premiums.
The Board proposed salary schedule provides for base salary pay increases not to exceed 3% each year. In comparison, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has only risen 2.13% per year, on average, over the past decade. The Board’s proposal will maintain a competitive base salary to attract teachers to the District. The Board also believes that offering consistent wage increases will retain quality teachers in our District. There is never a shortage for qualified teachers who want to work in the Kinnikinnick School District.
